Part of Anavex's problem with share price is the way they sell stock. They hired a company to sell shares for them to raise money. They problem with doing that is not only are they raising money faster than they need it, but the company they work with can decide to make a bunch of extra money. They know they will have X number of shares to sell and that gives them the ability to play games with the stock to lock in excess profits. Unfortunately, those type of practices tends to lower the price of the shares.

Anavex is large enough now that they should stop working with others to sell shares to raise money. They should hire someone proficient in doing share offerings or selling slowly into the market themselves.

Next, the company waited a long time to release the news but didn't release much data with it. They released the news in a way that made it look more like bad news than the good news it was. They should be shouting - we have great news and have a news conference and then provide the release.
