Assuming that it is Sarissa - that up until now has had the one dollar safety net stretched out below AMRN stock - a logic explanation for why to give the market free - would be that AD and the fund - want to expand its holding in Amarin stock further.

Everyone wants to buy in as low as possible - Sarissa no exception. So you couldn't blame them for 'not working directly against own business logic - paying for 'a floor' - that (if they are expanding) cost them money twice !
