Most of the prices were in shekels, but at times they had it in dollars, They knew americans were shopping it's about four shekels to the dollar.

I would not say this is just at The tourist sites, jobs just don't pay that well.

Here is another tidbit.

The ultra orthodox do not serve the mandatory military service, the males study the Torah as a job and the wife works. They live in near poverty conditions per se. They have powerful voting blocks for 20% of the population. It does make other Israelis mad as their children get shot at in the Gaza, not the Ultra Orthodox's kids.

When the Israelis withdrew from Lebanon, the Druze Christians that had sided with the Israelis were doomed to death. Israel invited them in, a rare occurrence for non Jewish. I learned a lot.


The Church of the Holy Sceplicre (sp), did not seem like the spot as claimed. I Perfered the Garden Tomb as a location.


Many many things.....but I have a newfound respect for Zion Oil and their operations in Israel. The location is a heavy agriculture area and heavily Jewish.

So the folks that are griping about the holidays and not working just don't get it.
