Rosem...... thanks for the playback of my first kidney stone experience.... brutal. My ER visit they couldn't give me a room so I'm on a gurney in the hallway waiting for meds which they don't give until they do the ultrasound to be sure what it is.....while I'm waiting in agony in the hallway for the results, the ER doc comes to me and said, do you need more pain meds? I said you haven't given me any yet..... finally they gave me a morphine drip or something and instant relief thank god. Then it was Oxy every 4 hours until the stone passed into my bladder. And like clockwork the pain meds were needed every 4 hours.

The second event was a couple years ago, just about to leave Florida for Massachusetts and I notice my urine is dark...oh oh. I drive to Virgina and stay overnight at a hotel. The next morning, an all too familiar pain in my kidney starts ramping up. I stop in the nearest hospital emergency room and when the ER doc comes look for me she says, so where's the guy doubling over in pain with the kidney stone.... I laughed and said, I'm not there quite yet but you know I'm going to be.....I've seen this movie before. They did all the tests and confirmed this little razor baby was coming. She hooked me up with the meds and 5 hours later I was back on way home to a couple of days of pain and suffering. Fingers crossed for no more of these.
