Staelin's plan is to remain a low cost OEM, rely on Distributors to sell, and rely on independent researchers to do all the research. That plan sucks. They got lucky when Ilfeld decided to test their device but Ilfeld could disappear as quickly as he appeared. Luck runs both ways.
