According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, waiving Harrioson Bader appears like an attempt to save some money by the New York teams.

Bader is making $4.7 million in his walk year, so is still owed about $880,000 for the rest of the season.

His removal also might make it easier to summon prospect Jasson Dominguez for the rest of the season or take another extended look at Estevan Florial.
