NWBO and Merck could have a deal at the beginning. But that deal was off the table. IMO, Merck is not so important to NWBO any more. We can see how desperate Merck wants to diversify its products. Paying $10.2b to get a company which targets two rare diseases with market size of $20b this year is a perfect illustration of the desperation. NWBO most likely would treat the same all those BPs which have checking point inhibitors including Merck, Roche, BMY, AZN. But special partnership could happen between REGN and NWBO.
