The shares were issed before the RSs. It enabled them to RS out shareholders they didnt like. Note that Linda and Reggies golden parachutes (preferred shares) were and will be unaffected by RSs. The RSs were also not broadcast until the fins were redone. I remember searching for the announcement but couldnt find anything.
Afterwards much of the volume came from trading the OS over and over as the company dumped until they reached 750mm OS.
Shareholders got dumped on twice with the end result being bloated into submission.
Thats the best I can tell.
