Flawed logic and theory. The index funds use algorithmic trading throughout the day buying and selling shares. Nothing more to it. Overlay a chart of IWM or even SPY. Same exact pattern for the day. There is no interest in this company or stock. Just machines trading.

The short position decreased by approx a million shares MoM. If your theory were true then why is the stock lower and down from $9?
