Here are Vanguard ownership data straight from Fintel. Maybe (but probably not) THIS will shut them up.

The 2 largest holdings are in massive index funds. NOTE THE DAMN PORTFOLIO PERCENTAGES
These funds by thousands of stocks. A 24% increase in one quarter means nothing - I found several with 200% and more -- check out LRMR and RPHM (both PRE-REVENUE!) if you don't believe me.
.
For their largest position - VTSMX - Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund Investor Shares, the value of their LWLG holding represents .014%.of their Total holdings. That's not 1.4 % or 14/1000 That's 1/100 of that number -- either 14/100,000 or if you prefer 14/1000 of just ONE percent! Their "large" ownership of Lightwave is almost totally meaningless to them.

It has over 3800 stocks in it! Here's how they describe this fund:

The Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund is a mutual fund that seeks to track the performance of the CRSP US Total Market Index. The fund invests in a diversified portfolio of stocks that represent the entire U.S. equity market, including small-, mid-, and large-cap growth and value stocks 12. The fund is designed to provide investors with broad exposure to the U.S. stock market at a low cost and with the potential for tax efficiency 2.

For their second largest position -- the VEXMX - Vanguard Extended Market Index Fund Investor Shares, the value of their LWLG holding is even LESS of a percentage: .0097% or just under 1/100 of ONE percent! Again, LWLG means virtually NOTHING to this fund!

It has over 3600 stocks in it! Here's how they describe the Extended Market Index Fund

The investment seeks to track the S&P Completion Index that measures the investment return of small- and mid-capitalization stocks. The fund employs an indexing investment approach designed to track the performance of S&P Completion Index, a broadly diversified index of stocks of small and mid-size U.S. companies. It invests by sampling the index, meaning that it holds a broadly diversified collection of securities that, in the aggregate, approximates the full index in terms of key characteristics. These characteristics include industry weightings and market capitalization, as well as certain financial measures, such as price/earnings ratio and dividend yield.
