Highlights i see from the Michelle Tokarz interview :
1. The Genius of Ramez Elgammel , obviously he has used his experiance and come up with something unique and novel in this new type silicon anode with the SEI layer '
2. 1000 plus cyles with less than 80% degradation Michelle stated Thats very good . Solid Power got a partnership with Ford and BMW has a cycle life of 1000 plus as well .Their work with them on Solid State Batteries which are not the battery of choice today is a ways out to market , So Coretec should land partnerships with this kind of battery performance. I look for a partnership with Ford and BMW and maybe Amprius or a buyout from any of these players or anyone else they can get onboard .Time will tell who knows Coretec and Tesla may form a partnership ,
3. 1000 plus cycles with less than 80% degradation with a battery from Coretec that lets say they can just hit 400 miles of range per charge puts the life of the battery way up there. Tesla says they have 1500 cycles with 267 miles average . If Coretec just hit 1300 cycles with 400 miles plus plus per charge they will have a longer lasting battery than tesla as you have more miles per charge and if Coretecs approach allows for a smaller battery that charges fast , like 8 min or less and costs less and a battery that uses less of the expensive materials in the anode and cathode which they have talked about then Coretec is better than Teslas batteries .
4. 15 % to 20 % silicon used in the battery . So Amprius uses 100% silicon in their anode but if Coretec who has a silicon precursor they start with that has 6 Xs the silicon in one molecule VS Amprius who uses tradition gaseous
silanes according to their patents , like SiH4 , monosilane and others ive looked at , then Coretecs battery should preform as well or better with just 20% silicon added to the anode VS Amprius 100 % silicon anode because Coretecs silicon far outpaces the other silane the other silicon anode companies like Amprius uses.
5. The goal of a Prototype by year end as Coretec is focused as well on Partnerships to help them scale up .
6. The advantage of the SEI layer Cotetec has created gives them another advantage over other silicon anodes being created . Michelle mentioned their are about 10 companies working on silicon anodes.
