Not that it would matter to you, but I unfortunately viewed you much differently when the personal correspondence was privately shared. I found it to be very offensive. So while I’d previously, at times, been fond of reading your park bench posts, I no longer was.

My thought is to not react to rather aggressive responses or content with a hugely stepped up and offensive response. You can always block private messages from a poster.
