I agree in all respects except Viet Nam. Ho Chi Min asked USA to be allied to expell the French Colonials. We took the side of Imperial France something both Eisenhower and Kennedy opposed. So Ho turned to the Soviets. It was complicated. The idea was to make sure the sea lanes
at Singapore were secure. The domino was Thailand. Russians are immigrating to Thailand and China is building bases in Cambodia.
