More plausible would be gov't subsidies to make lab produced meat cost competitive. I don't know the economics of growing meat in vats but I would never say it's impossible to be cost competitive even without subsidies. Who knows what technologies will be invented/discovered in the future that would improve yields to the point of affordability. The POC has been established so that's half the battle. Will it take 10 yrs, 100 yrs or never...who knows?
