Your quote comes from the letter which your link opens. It is a reply dated 21st June 2021 to a Freedom of Information ("FOI") request entitled "Freedom of Information request on whether the MHRA receives funding from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (FOI 21-624)". Your quotation marks should indicate that the quote is a verbatim copy from that letter in which case you really should have included all relevant parts, especially the final sentence of that paragraph. It would then read:

"The current level of grant funding received from the Gates Foundation amounts to approximately $3m. This covers a number of projects and the funding is spread across 3-4 financial years."

To put that into perspective, over those 4 years, 2017 to 2020 (inclusive) the money received from all sources by the MHRA totalled £150,145,000. (This is from the Written Answer to the Parliamentary Question that I quoted in my response and was left out as being at that time irrelevant). This means that over that period the Gates Foundation donations amounted to approximately 2% of total income with nothing since, otherwise the Written Parliamentary answer would have detailed it. Hardly the "Primary funder" as fluteman claimed in his opening salvo - missed, well wide of the mark.

As to the projects to which the FOI letter refers, there are 2 links. New medicines and vaccines, for diseases such as malaria and HIV, may be introduced for the first time in LMIC’s where there are weak or no regulatory systems in place for effective safety monitoring. These new treatments have been developed with urgent public health needs in mind and therefore the need to gather and analyse information quickly on their safety and effectiveness is important. The healthcare and regulatory systems in these settings may often lack the tools, training and capacity to operate a robust safety monitoring system. The other link is to the 2020 annual report of the MHRA which simply states in one sentence that the MHRA had worked with the Gates Foundation - no details.

The whole tenor of the reports and responses on this Board has been an attempt to tarnish the reputation of the MHRA with fluteman opening the attack on 16th July @ 2:48:16 PM (post#610356) with:

"MHRA--not as pure as I thought: An investigation found that the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation is the UK’s Medicine & Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency’s (MHRA) primary funder." [SO WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS]

So quickly as to be suspicious (1hr 16min 44secs later) extrooper waded in at 4.05PM (post#610383) with:

"There goes all belief and hope of no criminality at MHRA". [LUDICROUS CLAIM]

I can only think that the fudsters now realise that they have lost the argument as to whether DCVax-L works or not and so they are now trying to blacken the Regulatory Authority which is most likely to be the first to licence DCVax-L. In their eyes, the FDA is already compromised by financial and political shenanigans together with BP's malign influence, so when the fudsters lose the battle to sink NWBO they can claim foul play by NWBO in its dealings with the FDA. Therefore, they are now trying to lay the ground to tarnish the MHRA's reputation - to paint the MHRA as a scarlet harlot who will prostitute itself by licencing DCVax-L for monetary gain and it's that b*stard, Bill Gates, (everybody's bogeyman) who is the evil agent behind its downfall!
