Emergency rooms are shutting down in France, a maternity ward shut down yesterday not far from here.

Lack of personnel.

If I want to see a doctor I have to figure that I might be sick in 3 weeks to secure an appointment.

The reasons, first, the government capped salaries for interns, so they don't want to work in the public sector, they go private.

Second, there is a quota for new doctors, only 10 percent in in premed can be admitted (why my daughter changed to veterinary school). so not enough new doctors exiting and lots of others taking retirement.

It is all a big mess
