IMO, there was a place for affirmative Action, in America----50 years ago. Minorities, especially Blacks, were discriminate against. The discrimination was codified, by law.

Many Blacks, in the south were forced into very sub standard schools. Their educations were stymied. Following the passage of the Civil Rights Act, Blacks had opportunities opened to them, but they were faced with making the best of those opportunities, from a standing start.

Many Whites, Asians and Hispanics were denied opportunity, due to Affirmative Action. I don't know the answer to that. But I do think that Blacks got the jump start , they needed, due to a life time of discrimination.

But that time is in our rear view mirror. It's time for Blacks to seize the opportunities that MLK and others fought and died for.
