Here's one: JR comes up with a great way to get fuel out of soybeans, patents that process, and sets up a test/demonstration reactor in his garage or equivalent--no need for a huge building at this point. Then he applies for R&D money from the USDA and the DOE, who help him commercialize the process, because it is the next big thing. He starts making the fuel and selling it; people buy it and want more than he can make. Then he goes public in order to finance the expansion.

To me, if the business model were sound, it would make more sense to market some product and then issue and promote the company's stock, but that's just me.

I talked myself out of buying any this morning.

A good bottom's hard to beat.
