Larry!!! How is it that you hit me with so many wonderful memories? Gloria!
I worked n a huge gold/copper mining project, high in the NW Argentina Andes. The nearest town a a small place called Ferrallon Negro ( Black Cliffs) The town had a fairly large cantina/cafe.
5 of we Americans put together a 5 man musical group. Thev locals named us Los Americanos. We would play at the mine site rec room. About once a month we drive down the Ferrallon Negro, unannounced, and perform. Two guitars, a squeeze box an harmonica. I was a barely talented singer..
We'd have a meal, a couple of beers, while the word spread the "Los Americanos" were at the cantina. We would attract a pretty good crowd. The proprietor of the cantina was a lovely lady, named GLORIA.
We always opened with Gloria. When we got to the G-L-O-R-I-A part the whole house would join in!
Thank you Larry!
