They don't. Those write ups are just pulling what little data is available and aggregating it into an "article." The $40 price target is from one analyst. It's also probably old. I'm assuming from back in March of 2021 at the last financing when a bunch of the analysts initiated after the offering because they underwrote the offering. Would have been an initiate at $4 but is not being split adjusted. I've not seen any recent initiations or price target adjustments.

Obviously this isn't to say the PT shouldn't be $40. I'm just saying that these price targets should be taken lightly and in Marker's case it is one outdated price target from one analyst. Ideally you want to see multiple analysts.
