Patricio Vergara, a civil mining engineer from the University of Chile and a Master of Science in Mineral Economics from Curtin University, Australia, assumed the vice-presidency on April 20, 2020. During his tenure, the VGRMD was repositioned with a seal of support to divisions in technical fields , management and resource planning

Patricio Vergara is fluent in Spanish and Australian.
