Just a little history (most of you know) as it’s now updated a bit.

Prior to DCVax-l, CIs and other therapies tried and tried to get cytotoxic t-cells into GBM tumors. However, the great frustration was that the t-cells would literally line up at the “door” of the tumor, but couldn’t get past the threshold.

When DCVax-l came along, the DCs were able to educate t-cells in vivo, which then multiplied and actually accomplished GBM tumor infiltration.

While we’ve known DCVax-l was pulsed by all the tumor antigens available, what we recently learned is that this Pulsing, Expression to t-cells and Co-stimulation involved confirmed antigen diversity in the hundreds, more costimulatory molecules than previously imagined, increased stimulation of t-cell division and thus much higher t-cell counts, and migration of these killer t-cells to infiltrate the tumor and kill tumor cells.

Perhaps one thing that the slide deck doesn’t convey is that the DCVax-l educated t-cells (as opposed to the indigenous population) arrive on the scene without the constraints of suppression and tolerance otherwise effected upon nonpulsed DCs.
