And in that you seem to feel that the next gen Pfizer drug has great potential I infer you must also agree. What I cannot grasp is how in your mindset that approval is possible for competitors, but also somehow impossible for Enanta's EDP 235.

I haven't seen any data for the new generation Pfizer drug and none has been provided by anyone here so no intelligent or honest person could claim it will be successful. As far as why someone would do so, consider the source. Then again, that same person claimed that Advil is as effective against Covid as Paxlovid is, which is truly absurd. Too bad our resident self-proclaimed expert didn't contact the FDA and explain this to them before they gave full approval to Paxlovid as an anti-Covid drug.

If you look over the 3 past month or two, >1000 people per week have been dying from Covid. The data shows for the past several month there have been some 100,000 Covid cases/month. Keep in mind this is when people are spending more time outside so transmission is less likely, It is ludicrous to think Covid is not a threat anymore, or that we don't need effective drugs or new drugs to prepare for variants arising that are at least partially resistant to Paxlovid.
