20 years ago, it was proposed by Health and Human Services (HHS) in the US that Regenerative Medicine could one day provide the true prospect of cures for major diseases with unmet medical needs. Today that vision is fast becoming a reality and the Cell & Gene Therapy field is now coming of age as we head towards a new wave of products set to revolutionise medicine in the coming years.

To that end, the UK and Swiss sectors must be fully aligned and positioned to capitalise on this exciting revolution. We have the science and know-how, but we must now focus on successful clinical execution and manufacturing, with the knowledge that both UK and Switzerland have some of the strongest foundations of science and pharmaceutical innovation in the world.

This is why meetings like the Cell & Gene Therapy exchange (third in the series) which took place today in Zurich matter so much.
