santafe, Concerning market direction, the economy, etc, there is more than a little overlap with the various 'New World Order' related topics. If a group of power hungry corporate elitists and finance ghouls are intent on building a one world dystopia, with themselves at the top and us on the bottom, then that will be a main determining factor of where things go for the economy and markets.

Currently the big question is the debt ceiling and whether the current crop of subpar managers (Biden, McCarthy) can get their heads out of their butts long enough to avert disaster. But the bigger question is whether the US-European gangsters (Gambinos-Genovese) can stave off the rising juggernaut of the China-Russia-BRICS gangsters. Seeing Saudi Arabia moving toward China is not a good omen.
