I have such a hard time actually conceptualizing participating in being served a butter board. I guess maybe in theory it's similar to a cheese board but it's hard for me to wrap my head around because butter seems like a condiment to me. "Bearnaise board anyone?", "No, how about a ketchup board?". Though actually I could still see either of these over a butter board just because the only thing I think of pairing with raw butter is some form of bread or cracker.

Edit: Ok, I had the concept wrong. It's really not like a charcuterie or cheese board. It's not about trying different butters at all. It's basically spreading butter and then topping the butter with whatever you think goes well together. I think it's likely just a novelty that will be one of those on the list of "Crazy fads from the early 2020's".
