Nah. After nearly 15 years of the tech failing commercial production and seeing no sales of silk, perhaps the “once-in-a-lifetime” excuse is just that, a lame excuse. If you want to invest in a practicable “once-in-a-lifetime” technology, look to AI, autonomous driving, cloud computing,, etc.. Things still in development, in their infancy (cloud computing aside) yet generating massive revenue with tons of growth ahead - industry-changing stuff. Sounds like the same premise made for spider-ish silk except that such silk has never been commercialized (by KBLB or anyone else) and in all likelihood, Kim won’t be the one to bring this silk to market.
