If offering data to compare (however broadly) use the same measure
if it was just to say the markets rose so more stocks rose than fell (not necessarily true BTW especially for DOW), then state how many rose (as a % age of all stocks) more than SIRC.

Your line about the increase in something for the markets was completely irrelevant
