In re: ELIZABETH HOLMES USBOP Inmate No. 24965-111 and BBBYQ

Inmate 24965-111, fka "ELIZABTH HOLMES" is, AFAIK, scheduled to self-surrender on Thursday and begin her prison term. The trial court judge, Judge DAVILA (a pretty good judge IMO), rejected her prior motion to remain free on bail while her appeal is CONsidered.

Her lawyuhs filed the appeal last Tuesday 18 April 2023. As I have stated in a previous post, she can now petition the Ninth Circus of Orange Peels for an order to allow her to remain free on bail pending resolution of her appeal. I expect this to also be rejected by the Ninth Circus of Hell and for her to report to DaHole this Thursday, 27 April 2023. However, as with all matters in front of the Ninth Circular Firing Squad, this is unpredictable. (The Ninth is by far the most overturned Court of Appeals in the Federal judiciary - butt they can be good for laffs sometimes - Judge Kozinski has a good sense of humour and uses it in his opinions and during oral arguments.)

Let the betting begin on whether or nott USBOP Inmate No. 24965-111 goes to DaHole Thursday or getts a bailment.

IMO, it is 90 percent likely she hitts DaHole Thursday, butt she has influential lawyers and she is mom to young kids so that is a CONsideration also.

Four days - let's see what getts reported on this matter between now and Friday. Inmate 24965-111 knows where she is to self-surrender, butt the general public does nott. I bleeve she will go to FCI-Dublin, which is a short bridge ride to the East Bay and then a short jaunt to Dublin. If she self-surrenders on Thursday, it should be in the morning so they can in-process her during the remainder of the day and avoid having her sit in a holding cell overnight. She should be in a single cell for a few days whilst they do the medical and psych evaluation, interview her, have her read the orientation manual, and then she will be released into general population and gett her bunk assignment.

One thing is certain. The in-processing can be a bit shocking and the prisoner is kinda-sorta stunned like when one first learns of a death of a loved one. There is a sense of unreality and disorientation. Once she is in general population and has a bunk and locker, the reality sets in and it is a virtual guarantee that she will cry herself to sleep for the first week or two - even first-time male inmates do this very often - very, very often. Mostly the males who come from a white-collar background. Those of us who have a street or farm sensibility are more likely to take it in stride. It is the white collar guys who seem to gett depressed once ensconced in DaHole. I have eaten from dumpsters, hHirley I can deal with eating prison food. I have slept on wooden benches in downtown Seattle (on First Street no less) and in Victorai, Vancouver Island, and on freezing benches in Munich and Innsbrook during winter. I have backpacked solo numerous times - for up to two weeks in DaWild.I am shure I can hack a warm bunk and a locker of ramen. Easy-peasy for a street or farm guy. Nottsomuch for a kid from a pampered background who grew up in Kenilworth or Lake Forest and whose outdoor experience is limited to day hikes in the Chicagoland forest preserves..

The FCI-Dublin commissary does sell crochet hooks and yarn. My maternal grandma taught me to crochet as a kid. It can be very relaxing while sitting on a rocking chair listening to the radio. I have no idea what it is like to crochet while sitting on a prison bunk. It is prolly less relaxing, if I had to venture a guess. Butt from her standpoint, DUblin is by far the best DaHole in which to serve time if one is of the female general area of the gender spectra. I know that if I were to be CONvicted of a Federl felony and sentenced to prison, I would immediately self-identify as female and have my counsel ask DaJudge to recommend me to serve at Dublin. A judge can only recommend tho, the BOP in its infinite wisdom decided which DaHole one to which one is assigned.

If I made it to Dublin, I certainly would resume my crocheting. I have forgotten much of it so I would need to study up a bit before self-surrendering. I would miss access to computers and the internet (except for legal research on the prison lieberry computers), butt the real punishment would be my inability to have any green quadrille pads to write upon. No USBOP facility lists any greed quad pad (TOPS, Ampad, or Staedler) on their commissary lists. Nott one. To add insult to injury, the only pens available are those crappy Bic Cristal old-type medium ballpoint pens - just horrid 1960s technology. Nott a single Federal prison offers rollerball pens in their commissary. THAT is cruel and unusual punishment indeed.
