You are probably correct, but that would be one of the more sober things that Rory has done since VERB was founded. It's not unusual for a company in financial distress to approach their professionals (lawyers, accountants, etc.) and tell them they need to cut their fees by x% or else the account will be up for grabs.

A friend of a friend was a scumbag lawyer who had that sort of request from a client. "Cut your fees by 10% if you want to keep our business." Lawyer agreed, but told my friend he would arbitrarily increase the number of hours he billed the client so his net billing would remain the same.
