taking yours and KCC's comments into consideration, assuming the tech is reliable enough, robust enough, lasts long enough, yields at a high enough percentage, doesn't add too much insertion loss, etc..,it has to be cost effective eventually...it can slog along for a while without being cost effective due to manufacturing inefficiencies but for low volume to become high volume it can't.

PI and the other sound like good solutions for the near term..who knows maybe all the issues will be taken care of eventually, but right now I'd just like to know if they can produce even just ONE device that an end user wants. Just because Intel can doesn't mean a Lightwave foundry partner can.
