Statins reduce CVD risk. Something we all know.
However, DYK that this particular statin, (pitavastatin, Livalo), significantly reduces CVD risk in patients with the HIV virus? So much so that the RCT was stopped for efficacy. Does it work as well on patients with another well known virus? BTW, this is the statin I've been taking for over 8 years.
