Ambassador Juan_Gabriel Valdés_on lithium:_YES we_want USA&Canada
Chile's representative to the United States, Juan Gabriel Valdés, said that the strategic partners to exploit lithium in the country are Western economies such as the US and Canada. China on the other hand only belongs to the category of “trading partner”. The Foreign Ministry (see Alberto van Klaveren) supported the ambassador. https://www-ex--ante-cl.translate.goog/las-declaraciones-del-embajador-valdes-que-causaron-malestar-entre-diplomaticos-chinos/?_x_tr_sl=es&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en-US&_x_tr_pto=wapp

I guess this now officially explains the conundrum/roadblock as to why BYD didn't get the 80,000mt LCE export license for US$61,000,000 a year ago and why Tianqi is currently not getting their request approved (by FNE) to acquire lithium property in Chile outside/independent of the SQM/Corfo "machine". China is a lower caste trading partner (spit spit) for Chile and not a key more crucial/powerful Strategic Partner... that is apparently more a big difference than we previously first thought.

Dear China, for your new kick-in-the-nuts today from Chile's Ambassador Juan Gabriel Valdés we would suggest filling a rubber douche bag with ice cubes and sitting on it for an hour.

Nyah nyah, Mommy's Boy Gabby Boric finally comes out of the closet as sincerely wanting WESTERN countries to EXPLOIT Chile's lithium in future STRATEGIC lithium love-making relationships. Well, I guess we will take that as good news for today then.
