Regarding this roadmap that could be announced during this week

Regarding this roadmap that could be announced during this week, the president for Latin America of Sorcia Minerals, Rodrigo Dupouy, one of the private companies that is interested in participating in this industry; maintains that "today the State does not have the capacity to exploit lithium on its own, and the authorities have stated so."

"Therefore, we believe that the industry should be promoted from a public-private agreement. It is the fastest way for Chile to take advantage of lithium prices," he added. On the National Lithium Company, meanwhile, he believes that "it is a good measure, as long as it is in favorable conditions for both the State and the private."

Know-how is private
Recently the Minister of Mining, Marcela Hernando, referring to how Chile will take advantage of the lithium boom, said: "we are absolutely aware that the Chilean State does not have the conditions to advance alone (...) Because we have not developed the skills to exploit it at level 1. And, therefore, we understand that the urgency of taking advantage of this virtuous lithium cycle is now and that we cannot do it alone, because the technology and knowledge are in private industry."
