What benefit do you believe would have accrued that did not accrue, and for what period of time do you believe that it would have been sustained?

I would like to better evaluate the theory but don't know the company's "exposure" in this scenario - I would be inclined to give them a break if the thing that didn't happen was a temporary "spike" of sorts.

I spent most of yesterday following the back and forth before realizing that I only knew that a purported problem was being discussed. But I don't know the size of the concern. I gather from 579175 that it is a stock price increase that would have resulted, and that informs my post here.

Addendum: After carefully crafting the above, I would like to try to ask the question in a more pointed, but still polite way: Is this concern one that would only matter to one flipping shares on momentum? That's a legitimate activity that I do not criticize with this question. If the answer is Yes that just means I can follow the convo a little less without missing much for me.
