Good god.

People don't want banks to fail any more than they want their loved ones to die.

But sometimes they do. It is a fact of life.

Preventing ALL banks from failing is often more costly, and much, much worse for the economy, than allowing the hopeless banks to die. Very few banks fail, but many of the worst ones end up being taken over by the better ones. That is how business actually works.

Incompetence should neither be rewarded nor saved to be allowed to continue. Sometimes it makes sense on all levels to sweep away the failures and rebuild with the competent.

What the Federal Government is doing now is a short-term band aid on a small wound that was no real threat to the economy. But instead, they decided to help out the politically connected by draining the lifeblood from the healthy and make everyone weaker in the long-term.
