Josh’s response to language used in private posting on internet by LQMT:

Very insightful:

LQMT (private) web page chose to use "Amorphous metal alloy" instead of "LiquidMetal".

Folks here should immediately ask WHY WHY WHY

IMHO....

This will entice the (USA market) (non Apple) whale to adopt the ME ONLY technology for hinges without having to fight legal battle with Apple.

Note the new approved TradeMark (without SOU) is 100% targeted toward cell phones and hinges. This very TradeMark is assigned to CIP (which is still shared with Apple).

This says SOU for these TradeMark are reserved for Apple product.

In the meanwhile, Apple is in no rush to push out foldable since foldable product itself is terrible without BMG assistance.

In order to fight China Brands foldable in Asia, Samsung and others (most likely have decided) to take on BMG (with no legal issue) and walk away from LiquidMetal brand.

All folks here will ask immediately, how will this funnel $$$ to LQMT then..

Answer is reflected within PLA.

Eon/Yihao (or their customer) is not allowed to sell end product to the West.

LQMT of course will give permission with $$$.

This very PLA agreement will hold true the opposite direction.

LQMT (or their customer) is not allowed to sell end product to the East.

So......what about all the historic IP that was assigned to Apple exclusivity via CIP?

Answer is reflected within Joint Development clause within PLA.

THIS IS WHY LM106c exist.
