9. Laura Nuttall - Brain cancer awareness.

In October 2018, just weeks before her first semester at King's College, London, 23-year-old Laura Nuttall began to suffer from painful headaches. However, after one particularly bad day, Laura soon discovered they were a sign of something a lot more sinister. After undergoing a CT scan and an MRI, the presence of eight brain tumours were discovered and Laura was given the devastating diagnosis of glioblastoma multiforme - a rare form of brain cancer.

Not only did Laura and her family have to cope with the shock of the diagnosis, but also the shock that she was already Stage Four and terminal. Ever since, Laura has been crossing off dreams on her bucket list, including travelling first-class to go on a safari in South Africa, visiting New York and meeting the cast of Saturday Night Live and visiting Aardman Animation where Nick Park drew her a picture of Wallace and Gromit and signed it.

Laura and her mum, Nicola have also worked painstakingly hard to raise awareness of brain cancer. Laura said: "I feel really honoured to be included on this list with such inspirational women. I wouldn't wish a brain tumour like mine on anyone but I'm trying to make the best of things, raising awareness of Gliobastoma and working with charities to raise funds to speed up the time it takes to get a diagnosis.

"I was given a prognosis of 12 months and I've had four brain surgeries plus 40 sessions of radiotherapy and almost two years of chemo but last summer I graduated with a 2:1 in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Manchester University and now I'm applying for a Masters. Life is short and it's our responsibility to live it well."
