My take on the show last night
I thought overall last night was the best of the three so far. The first girl who started off the shows, sang relatively well (Although admittingly stylized, so not every song will work for her), but I don't think the judges liked that she was non commital to it being her dream. They let so many people through that are far worse than her. But she eventually gets through.
The second person I remember was the guy who wrote his song to his girlfriend. Overall I thought the song was okay and his vocal was above average. To be fair would of put him through, but At this point I lean toward putting anyone through that flashes any level of talent. So not a overwhelming positive view, but enough to get through at this point.
The third person I remember was a guy signing while his mom was on piano. Didn't love it, It just seem a bit karoke to me. And the piano play that the judges raved about from the mother, I didn't think was great to say the least. He didn't go through, I agreed.
The 4th person I remember Was the guy who had autism that was playing on piano. He can play the piano. And to this point I was on the fence on whether I liked it, everything from the piano play to the original song, to the way he choose to sing it, I felt like I don't know if I ike this or I don't. But would of probably put him through myself, because when I'm on he fence in this round, that is what I feel they should do. And they did.
The 5th person starts off talking in a terrible talking voice. She than if you pay attention she says, this is my talking voice. Which Implied to me that her singing voice was very different. Thankfully it was, she can flat out sing. One of the best singers we heard throughout the competition in my opinion.
The 6th person I remember was a female singer from a small town who is DJ at some radio station. She says she was going to do a pop version of the song. I thought she was wrong didn't hear pop, heard some blues though. She can sing though, and deserved a golden ticket, and that is what she received.
The 7th person- Sang a LR Classic, And although I don't know if I liked every vocal choice. She can flat out sing, so no brainer to put through and they did. Finally the good female singers have arrived.
8th person- Sang a original Song, One of the better original song we have heard. Sad that his mom committed suicide. He can sing, and is a pretty good songwritter based on that song. Although he could use a little more power. At the end of the day though a no brainer to go through at this point.
9th person- We went through a whole bunch of musical theatre people before we got to her. She can sing, but needs to untrain herself some bad habits if she she wants to be effective singing in this competition. They gave her some teaching and let her through, to be fair, after spending all that time, plus she was a bit better singing HB (Second song), I understand why they give her a chance. Don't know if she can completely untrain herself, but time will tell.
10th Person- wrote this song. Was one of those things where I Didn't want to like it, but kind of did. Now I have my doubts of whether she can sing well enough, but couldn't get the song out of my head so it was catchey at least for me. So they let her through, we will see how well she can sing when she doesn't have a kind of fun song behind her. Time will tell.
11th person- The guy who almost died in the car accident to end the show. Can flat out sing. It really is that simple. They put him through, which was very obvious was the right decision.
Conclusion: Overall there were a few others, but these were the ones I remembered. I thought last night show was the best out of three, and it is nice to see some female who can actually sing very well. All is just my opinion of course,and I could always be wrong though.
