In some ways, I feel bad for KM. I think he is a genuinely good person that was given poor direction by the Chairman of the Board. He is a good Lieutenant, but I think CEO was above his paygrade at this point. He was never in the C-Suite in his previous jobs. He was in charge of the sales force for Europe. Rather far from what's going on in the corporate office. And he never worked in the biotech startup world.

I think the biggest failures at Amarin have been in the boardroom, not in the home office.

I still believe that one of Amarin's greatest failures was the CEO's they picked. They picked John Thero, a pretty good CFO, who was way out of his zone as CEO, and KM, who also had never worked anywhere close to the C-Suite or boardroom.

Had they picked individuals with more substantial experience and gravitas, the results may have been different.

Part of me believes that our three recent board Chairmen (JZ, LE, PWO) did this intentionally so that they could control the CEO and effectively, the company.
