Index fund companies don’t have analysts. The common fallacy that index funds are actively managed and are making investment decisions based on fundamentals persists despite many informative posts to the contrary. So let’s try again. State Street, Blackrock and Vanguard are index fund companies. And before anybody challenges whether State Street is an index fund company, I have already posted links showing that they are. The index funds that hold AVXL are tracking funds that track the Russell 3000 and the Russell 2000. They own AVXL because AVXL is in the Russell 2000. That’s it.
