A few random thoughts on Nubis, I remain bullish.

1. Nubis announcement calls out less than 4 pJ/Bit. LWLG has advertised the Slot polymer as 1-5 pJ/Bit.
2. Nubis announcement calls out record-breaking density. The polymer slot is the smallest form LWLG modulator, and would seem to align with density achievements.
3. LWLG Slot Polymer results were due from NA Foundry D in 2H 22. Prototyping to follow in 22 and 23, theoretically aligning with this announcement.
4. Lebby, and Nubis founder Peter Winzer were at a laser focus world briefing together recently.
5. Karen Lu Connection is known
6. Silorix (rumored 600K Euro Loan form LWLG) is due in March 23, ostensibly to make product. Same time Nubis needs some modulators. Perhaps they are supplying Nubis some modulators to use in prototypes of the XT1600?
7. The pursuit of Active Optical cables sounds like a good match for NUBIS and the recently acquired patent technology by LWLG to allow for laser amplification on chip in order to allow for longer distances, inside and outside the data center. I recall a very respected poster once asked lebby what he thought of spectra 7(a copper cable vendor for intra data center application) …. Lebby politely said not from his perspective.
8. NUBIS is partnered with Google Ventures among others.
9. Nubis is a member of OIF.

Rambling a bit here, but the potential is there to connect activities. It almost makes sense for LWLG to not say anything new or revealing in the months leading up to a bigger announcement at OFC from a partner and risk that emerging relationship.
