Oh my! This was the first time we've lost power in the winter. Usually it's summer time and it's hot but we deal with it. We were all bundled up and it wasn't too bad...until about 2 in the morning.

And of course since it's been so mild the last few winters we didn't bother to get the fireplace cleaned and ready because we haven't used it in a couple of years (there's an animal in it I'm sure because I hear things scurrying around). So we had no heat source at all. We were going to a hotel last night if it hadn't come back on.

Bowie was one of the hardest hit places and there's still people without any power. We had a little 5 inch b/w battery powered tv that we'd turn on to watch the news...every other report was from somewhere in Bowie or Upper Marlboro (just down the road)...we got it bad this time.
