What if Australia is first?

The trial drug, developed by US pharmaceutical company Anavex, is one of the therapies identified by a committee of experts as deserving prioritisation among hundreds others.”

What? Anavex will be running a Parkinson's disease trial of their drug blarcamesine Down Under? What could they be thinking?

--- Well, that getting the drug approved in Australia is very likely. Everything seems to be aligning for that to happen.

From early on, many of us have pondered the question of what happens when some foreign drug regulation authority approves blarcamesine before the US FDA? What happens in the US when Parkinson's patients in Aussie land report that their symptoms are abating? "Well, the drug is just not approved in the US. It's safety or efficacy are unproven. There are real experts on an Anavex message board that have been proclaiming this for years."

Gonna be interesting to watch, won't it? Same scenario for Alzheimer's might play out.
