According to Hutchison affidavit he never worked for the US military, but they did visit him.

The thing is Teslas suffer spontaneous fracture in suspension in a similar fashion to what Hatchison observed...ie The spontaneous fracture of metal. Even a few day old Tesla experienced this. Certainly wasn't wear and tear that caused Disneys Aladdin Star Menas 2 or 3 day old Tesla to lose a wheel.
