That will only happen if V goes OTC and is on a store shelf next to generic so the customer can decide at point of sale if they want Brand or generic.

Right now, the insurance company decides which one they will cover for you. The customer has no real choice as long as insurance is involved making the drug affordable. The company can advertise til hell freezes over telling people to demand brand, if insurance isnt covering it, they arent going to get it.

If V wen't OTC at current non insured pricing, nobody will buy it out of pocket. It would have to be a LOT cheaper on the store shelf and move 100x the volume and razor thin margins.

"certain posters" don't agree with you because you keep trying to compare a $5 bottle of OTC painkiller to an insurance company covering 90% of a $300/month Brand Rx for you and thinking that could translate to a store shelf decision.
