So, here we are. Its February 2023, and Lifeloc still has nothing meaningful to share publicly about it's nearly 10 year quest to develop a marijuana breathalyzer. They have left shareholders in the dark, making statements like they are devoting all of their resources toward the development of this product, implementing incentive plans, etc., yet have shown investors nothing.
Meanwhile, Cannabix has a completed product in the hands of Warren County, PA Police for a pilot study. Hound labs has developed a marijuana breathalyzer. There are several other start-up companies that are already in a formidable race to develop a marijuana breathalyzer, using some of the same fuel cell membrane technology that Lifeloc has used in it's alcohol breathalyzers.
Intoxalock, a competitor of Lifeloc, has teamed up with a company called ElectraTect, to develop a marijuana breathalyzer. They are working with UCLA, and already have Patents in place. VOX Biomedical has teamed up with the Draper Technology Company, to develop a marijuana breathalyzer. They are using infrared spectroscopy laser-based technology as their platform. Vox Biomedical’s initial development efforts are being funded by DOT’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Based on preliminary positive Phase I results, DOT has expressed enthusiasm for the technology and recently awarded a Phase II program for additional development and prototyping of the instrument. DOT endorsement of the technology will be critical to achieving market acceptance, and will significantly accelerate market penetration.
SOBR Safe has made a name for itself by introducing a touch based alcohol monitoring detection platform. No need to blow, just touch your finger on this pad... Meanwhile, Lifeloc flounders on a Saliva based Spin DX Platform, which is already outdated.
Investors should be frustrated, Lifeloc needs to shit, or get off the pot.
