I'm going to play devil's advocate here and suggest that people don't always know that they have a security issue...until they do.

Ransomware, for example, has become very sophisticated over time. It will sit dormant on a company network searching out every device including vulnerable data backup repositories. When it finally launches its payload, the software hits multiple devices at once so as to do the most amount of damage before anyone realizes what is going on.

Zerify's pitch goes beyond the classic concern about "Zoom Bombing." They say that malware can reside on the computer of a video meeting participant and can intercept the content of the meeting to share with, say, a competitor. It would be no different than someone conducting espionage by placing a microphone in a corporate boardroom to gain an industry advantage or maybe to trade stock based on insider information discussed during a meeting.

Supposedly, Zerify's technology prevents the interception of audio, video and keystrokes to guard against meeting eavesdropping. Does it really do this? I haven't the slightest idea.

There have been successful companies built on FUD.

Zerify won't be one of them, but to suggest that Zerify Meet doesn't address a potential problem overlooks the possibility that it does.
