They sold the shares short on the run up to the Banana Head Apes that were momo'ng the stock all week. Cash is raised, then they announce the financing. Grey area reverse raise.
A trick they all do, the VC firms never make a phone call to any clients to do a raise. Company hires them, so when the stock is moving they sell short a pile of shares, when it's done, they arrange delivery of shares to cover short, VC firm keeps their commish and delivers the cash. And to make it legit, they register the shares through some S filing, 424B or the like.
