Zip, I wonder if pharmacies also play a role here. They are the ones that carry those hundreds of generics from various companies in their supply chain and it might be difficult to get the pharmacy chain to prioritize handing out/carrying Amarin's generic instead of a generic from a Generic company where they already carry hundreds of their products.

I am not so sure that my insurance company cares whose generic is given out to me, for instance, when I fill my blood pressure medication, metoprolol, as I can sometimes get different generic brands, I guess based on which the pharmacy prefers or has in stock at the time.

Be nice for someone knowledgeable on the workings of this to opine.
